Well it's for sale, can you identify the make and model?
It's a fun little car to race, or just tool around in, take to car shows, get in the back seat and really bring back some old memories! Several years ago, actually 9 to be exact, I did the racing part, at Bandimere Speedway. Yes.. that is me sitting behind the wheel in the front seat (giggle). I remember it, as if it was just yesterday, I'll spare all the details.
I got shanghaied into doing it by SRC, he can be a bit sneaky like that, more than likely I'd have never don't it otherwise. I was scared to death, yes being scared to death can be kind of fun, as sick and twisted as that sounds. In any event it was a good time, am I going to do it again, I doubt it, but who knows. We have 3 other operating muscle cars, which I haven't driven, nor had I driven this one before I got behind the wheel to race.
My best time was just under 14 seconds in the quarter mile. It wasn't head to head racing, but that's how I drove, I just wanted to be the first to the finish line. Most the time I was, which eliminated me from continuing to the next level. I found out later it's bracket racing, you try to determine your time, dial it in and then don't beat yourself. Hah!
Undoubtedly, the biggest adrenalin rush of my life. It can be yours for the right price. If you want details of the car or price send me an email, I know the make, model and year but want to see if any of my readers remember.
Dodge Comet? With modifications, of course...
ReplyDeleteIt looked to me like a Rambler.
ReplyDeleteSorry June and Rhea, not correct. Any other guesses?
ReplyDeleteUmm, just a guess.... 64 Dodge Dart?
ReplyDeleteWith an air intake to get just a little bit extra out of the Mopar. Did you light them up when they bleached the run?
ReplyDeleteOr am I all wet? You know how much I like being wet *g*
I have no idea Janeywan....I'm not good with cars; but it does look like a Dodge of some kind.
ReplyDeleteWow. That would be the coolest everyday driver! Looks like a Dodge to me.. What IS the price?? And, what are the specifics on the car?? In case I'm in the market... LOL.

Boy, you are really letting go of a gem. What a fun car! And fabulous memories! Good for you for passing it on to someone who will love it
ReplyDeleteWow, that's too cool. :) I've always wanted to drive a muscle car, probably never will. It seems that my husband used to race one and made modifications to one long ago but not now. Great picture.
ReplyDeleteI am not really good with cars, but I figured it was from the mid '60s. It is very nice and when I was younger, thought it would be way fun to do some racing. I love the quick shift thing and was pretty good at it.
